Job Title: Weapon System Configuration Management Specialist   

Job Location: Hill AFB, Utah

    Analyzes engineering change proposals, design reviews, audits, scheduling, and budgeting

    Assists in the development and implementation of computer-based configuration, data management systems and electronic data systems, and electronic data support

    Develops and designs configuration/data management documentation

    Monitor’s contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure standards and requirements are being met

    Identifies requirements and the development and implementation of computer-based configuration, data management systems, and electronic data systems 

    Works under general supervision of a Project Manager or Lead, and is able to act in their behalf when authorized

    Reviews, coordinates, processes, and assists with the integration of System Requirements Analysis (SRA) data into the SRA database and maintains the database

    Provides SRA data to government and contractor users

    Reviews and coordinates Interface Control (ICD) data and maintains ICD data in the configuration management (CM) database

    Provides ICD products to government and contractor users

Minimum Requirements:

    Bachelor’s degree in STEM-related field with 4 years of experience 

    Or a master’s degree with 2 years of experience 

    Or a PhD with 1 year experience 

    In-depth understanding of Configuration Management requirements as specified in Air Force Regulations and industry standards

    In-depth experience in configuration or systems management

    Knowledge and ability to apply complex management and administrative principles

    Understanding of system equipment specification use and maintenance

    Knowledge of engineering drawings and contractor engineering control/release processes

    Ability to interpret policy and procedures applicable to configuration management functions, and to tailor them to program requirements

    Understanding of estimating/pricing techniques as related to proposal evaluation

    Knowledge of, and skill in, the use of principles of negotiation as required to reconcile diverse opinions that can arise from conflicts in ECP evaluation/contracting, design reviews, and audits

    Substantial knowledge of system program office and contractor operations and familiarity with the various management and technical disciplines involved, sufficient to enable understanding of technical and procurement terminology and procedures

    Journeyman skill set includes ability to perform all stated/implied duties within this tier and those reasonably derived from preceding tier
