Scope of Work:

Supporting the TCTS group at NAS Oceana.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain multiple LINK-16 terminals utilizing Joint Range Extension (JRE), VIASAT ARMS/LEGS, and LITL software.
  • Control LINK-16 terminal utilizing J-Voice capability using the VIASAT MIC and MAC.
  • Operate and maintain Link Injection To Live (LITL) system.
  • Cross train to operate and maintain the Tactical Combat Training System (TCTS) components comprised of; Live Monitor (LM)/Mission Line-Up (MLU)/Firewall (FW)/Electronic Warfare Server (EWS)/Electronic Warfare Multiplexor (EW-MUX)/Radar Acquisition Display System (RADS)/Joint Debriefing Subsystem (JDS)/Personal Combat Display System (PCDS)/Individual Combat Aircrew Display System (ICADS).
  • Performs Preventive Maintenance (PM)/Corrective Maintenance (CM) on assigned equipment with supervision.  Performs organizational and intermediate level maintenance on assigned equipment.  Verifies operability after maintenance actions.  Documents all maintenance actions, isolates malfunctions. Incorporates approved system patches, upgrades and engineering changes as required.
  • Proactively communicates with individual squadrons to ensure link connectivity in every flight and troubleshoot as required during training evolutions.
  • Setup and monitor multiple JREAP connections with other Ranges and Forces utilizing JRE. 
  • Utilize all functionality of JRE in order to meet specific training event requirements.
  • Utilize a Simple Key Loader (SKL) to load MIDS/JTRS, KG-175, CSF-34, and KY-100 COMSEC equipment.
  • Coordinates TDL settings with all training network participants.
  • Supports tactical data link design in validated operational requirements to include cost analysis, optimization studies, engineering studies, integration, and installation. Works with the engineering department for capability improvements and with configuration management to maintain and document TDL baselines.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Three years of experience in Tactical Data and Information Links.
  • Experience with JRE and VIASAT ARMS/LEGS software.
  • Experience loading with SKL. 
  • Formal training in Tactical Data and Information Links.
  • Multiple Tactical Data Link experience (Link-11, Link- 16, etc.).
  • Joint Range Extension (JRE) operations experience.
  • NAVEDTRA 43462-2A KMI PQS.
  • CompTIA Security+
  • Must possess a valid state Driver's License. 
  • Must be able to maintain a Secret clearance.
  • Must maintain current CPR/First Aid certification
