Scope of Work:  The Environmental Test and Integration Services (ETIS) Team is seeking a Supervisor of Flight Fabrication and Machining with the responsibility of supervising a team of approximately 20 individuals within the ETIS contract. The Flight Fabrication and Machining departments provide engineering technician support for aerospace applications. These applications include multi-axis high-speed machining, cable harnessing, and thermal blanket manufacturing.  

 

Responsibilities:  

  • Direct NASA customer interface to ensure quality of services and problem resolution. Develop relationships with customers.
  • Leadership for the development of improved programs and/or processes.
  • Resolution of personnel and administrative issues.
  • Creating and tracking budgets and/or assignment of personnel for various flight projects and NASA programs.
  • Tracking and/or initiating procurements to support group functions and/or flight project needs.
  • Development and presentation of routine presentations and reports for NASA customers.
  • Other duties as assigned by ETIS management, which are typically focused on innovative initiatives, programmatic problem-solving, and problem resolution within different areas of the program.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  

Minimum Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in direct personnel management/supervision in an engineering/technical environment, preferably in the Aerospace industry required.
  • Significant experience creating, executing, and tracking budgets and tasks required.
  • Strong organizational and relationship-building skills required.
  • Experience supervising personnel in a represented workforce required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field – Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, or related field (Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering degree highly preferred) with 5+ years of industry experience preferred.
  • Experience supervising General Manufacturing workflows of aerospace hardware and understanding of personnel challenges in executing that workflow preferred.
  • Must have and maintain a valid state driver’s license. 
  • Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminal record check.  Must have a safe driving record, as defined by Company policy, to operate a company vehicle.  
  • Must have practical knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards, and standard safety practices.  
  • Must possess the ability to work in a team or alone and be able to change jobs on short notice.
