KIRA Named DPW Contractor of the Year

KIRA, a leading provider of facilities maintenance and construction services, is pleased to announce its recognition as the Department of Public Works Support Contractor of the Year by the U.S. Army Installation Management Command. KIRA was chosen out of thousands of contractors, worldwide, who provide support to the U.S. Army.

The Directorate of Public Works Awards Program affords the opportunity to recognize excellence in the execution and management of the public works, base operations, and real property maintenance.

KIRA's focus on safety, quality workmanship, and continuous improvement processes has created an award winning environment.  KIRA managed over 57,800 Service Orders in the evaluation period, which is a 59% increase in overall workload since the beginning of the contract. Amy Williams, Fort Carson Contracting Officer has stated of this growth, "Implementation of technological innovations that increase the craftsmen's productivity has been successful. KIRA has had an increase in the number of service orders this FY and was able to increase their completion rate without additional personnel. Management has been very successful with keeping their craftsmen in the field longer by using technological advancements, running parts to field personnel when needed and scheduling work at the shop level."

Mark Bartle, KIRA's onsite Project Manager, pursued the accolade for the past two years. His leadership, coupled with the dedicated team and the support of the customer, propelled the opportunity to reality. Mary Hudson, Contracting Officer for KIRA's contract stated, "Although the nomination was written for a 12 month period, the process for the nomination started at Contract Award. The conviction, guidance and vision of the Project Management team supported by the Contractor's Corporation, is the direct link to this Contractor's success and being awarded IMCOM's DPW Support Contractor of the Year."
