The U.S. Air Force announced that the contractor team that partnered with KIRA was awarded both contracts for civil engineering and cadet support services for a total of $110 million at the U.S. Air Force Academy.

There were nine bidders, including CH2M Hill. KIRA is currently in a Joint Venture with CH2M Hill on the current contract at USAFA. Because the opportunity was a set-aside for small business, KIRA and CH2M Hill, both large companies, competed against each other on the recompete.

Over the past seven years, the CH2M/KIRA joint venture has completed over $200 million in work at USAFA. KIRA looks forward to five additional years at USAFA. KIRA will perform approximately 47 percent of the work as subcontractor to Aleut

CH2M and KIRA part ways at USAFA on good terms. The two companies have entered into an agreement to bid an additional $700 million of facilities maintenance contracts in a joint venture identical to the one at USAFA.
